4 Tips To Be A Better Football Player

To be an excellent player, one needs to work on all areas of the game to be as threatening as possible. You must be good at all the technical moves and many others. Here, you will find all the tips to be a better player on the field. So, read it, please, till the end, to get the notion of all the techniques that will help you improve and increase your efficiency in dominating the field.

FOOTBALL AND TECHNICAL MOVEMENTS

It would help if you did not give your opponent a second respite. You need to hold all the poles so they never know what to expect or where to concentrate.

  • To level up performance, you need to work on both legs and invest more time in the less efficient one. This probably will never reach the performance level of the dominant one, but it will give you the possibility of outperforming your opponents.
  • You need to volley in training. A good player is able to direct the ball as he wants without keeping it on the ground and without giving any opponent time to react. Do some practice with cross passes or corners.
  • If the cross pass comes high, to succeed in your header, turn your shoulders to face the goal. If the pass comes to your legs, adjust the orientation of your hips to accompany the shot.
  • Most importantly, you must not stay in a fixed position; you must always be running, attacking the ball, and changing your position.

WORK ON PHYSICAL STRENGTH AND ENDURANCE: ADAPTED SPORTS TRAINING

It is important to note that to dribble your opponents one after the other, you have to go against them individually without the protection of your teammates. You must remember the goal and work out some small bridges or leg passes to the opponents. Scissor kicks and shoulder feints are also some great dribbles.

Effective training: Work the moves by setting up a frame and doing some fast dribbling, intercepting, and shooting at the goal while remaining inside the frame to keep control of the game.

It is effective training with a teammate. You set up in a rectangle, and you must try to make a goal by switching between attacks and defences. A goal is an objective wherein you take the ball out of the rectangle.

You may also practice individually by framing yourself up. Try to intercept the ball, practice dribbling, and shoot without leaving the frame. With these kinds of drills, you learn how to stay in control of the game.

You should be able to shoot with one touch of the ball if you are facing the goal or two touches of the ball if you have your back to the goal. However, to be as versatile as possible,  you should practice shooting with one touch of the ball in the box like the greatest shooters. Practice shooting with your back to the game by performing oriented control and shooting with two touches of the ball.

Since you mustn’t give a second respite to the opposing team, be good everywhere: Dribbling, Passing, Shooting, Movement.

DEVELOPMENT OF GAME INTELLIGENCE AND TACTICAL SENSE

Tactics are the heart of the game. A great player combines his strengths with those of his teammates to achieve success as a team.

You need to get out of sight to get an upper hand over your opponents. You, therefore, have to make complex movements. Keep positioning yourself behind your opponents, even if it will mean being offside occasionally. This will give the attacker the express need to turn his head after every minute or so to locate you. In so doing, he will lose sight of the game. You must use this to make counter-calls for the ball in the free space. At this particular point, go in front of the opponent to ensure you are not offside. You’ll thus have the slight advantage of retrieving the ball.

Remember also to mix up your runs. You may run in a straight line between the central defenders but also diagonally between the full-back and the central defender. This, too, will make the opponents tired, so they no longer know where you go or where you are.

IMPORTANCE OF HYGIENE AND MENTAL PREPARATION

Not only does a player have to be good physically to be better, but the mental aspect is also very important. Of course, healthy eating and getting enough rest can achieve good physical and mental results.
Healthy eating is an important aspect that helps an individual maintain an optimum level throughout training. Similarly, good concentration is important because it can directly affect how well the player will fare on the field.

It is all about simple exercises that will engage your mind before the match starts, so all you need to do is perform some simple exercises. Here are some breathing exercises that might be helpful:

  • Put your hands on your knees and inhale deeply into your abdomen; breathe out in a strong, explosive manner through the nose. You should vividly imagine or visualize the powerfully contracted abdominal muscles to help empty your lungs.
  • Practice conscious breathing in the field or during training or matches. Inhale through the nose, counting to 2, and exhale, counting to 3, using the “S” sound every time.

Whether a complete beginner or an advanced player, there is always room for further skill development and proliferation that will make one a better player. No matter the position, becoming a better player requires hard work, determination, and regular practice. You will improve your performance and make more impact on the pitch through the ability to develop your speed, heading, and team play. This is what will allow you to evolve in the world of football.
