TOP 5 Cognitive Training Exercises

The training concept is based on a specific composition in combination with the colours RED, GREEN, BLUE, and YELLOW. This selection was made keeping in mind their monosyllabic character. Much attention was also given to compatibility with other existing training tools, such as marking cones.

A complete set of chasubles consists of 12 chasubles. In this set, each colour combination occurs only once and is unique. It is available in reversed colours. This combination offers a wide range of possibilities for giving signals and movements during training. TOP 5 exercises on cognitive training.

6 vs 6: Colors determine the teams!

PRACTICE, INSTRUCTIONS AND COACHING

The coach enters the field with a ball and decides on team composition with a simple colour signal, for example, BLUE. In the “BLUE” signal the 6 players who have a blue side in their two-colored bib play together. Then organize a 6-on-6 match.

Variations:

  • A player’s first contact with the ball after the coach’s pass decides the colour of the team composition.
  • It is not the first but one of the following contacts that determines the team’s composition. The coach announces the number of decisive contacts with the ball.

5 on 5 on the big goals

PRACTICE, INSTRUCTIONS AND COACHING

The coach passes the ball to any player. A 5-on-5 match follows. A simple colour signal from the coach (e.g. RED) determines the team composition. Then the designated team (e.g. the 5 players with a red side) plays towards the goal furthest from the player who first received the ball. The opposing team tries to prevent a goal and counterattack towards the opposing goal. Each new pass from the coach is followed by a new coach signal and therefore a new team composition.

Variations:

  • The first player taking the ball to one side calls teams by colour: here, right = yellow/ left = red.

5 vs 5: colors determine teams + mini goals!

PRACTICE, INSTRUCTIONS AND COACHING

The coach comes onto the pitch with a ball, and signals the team composition by a simple colour signal (example: BLUE). On the signal BLUE, 6 players who have a SKILLSHIRTZ® with a blue side play together. Then there is a 6 on 6 game. After three passes, one can shoot at the 4 mini-goals .

Variations:

  • First, contact from a player after the coach’s pass determines the colour of the lineup for that team.
  • You can only attack the two goals of the colours. (Ex. 6 BLUE/YELLOW)
  • You can only attack the two goals of the colours. However, you have to consider the sides as well. Ex. 6 RIGHT: BLUE/LEFT: YELLOW)

4 vs 4 plus 2 twins

PRACTICE, INSTRUCTIONS AND COACHING

Two Powershot® are combined with single-coloured bibs. 4 RED players are playing against 4 BLUE players. Furthermore, two players wear the colour BLUE/RED. These two players are always acting in possession. The result is a 4 plus 2 to 4. In case of possession of the ball by RED, the neutral players can use only the foot matching the RED colour. If BLUE has possession of the ball, neutrals can only use the foot that corresponds in colour to blue. Neutral players must play the ball with contact.

Variations:

  • For neutrals, passing has to be done with the same colour as the team in possession of the ball.

3 vs 3 Funino with colored goals

PRACTICE, INSTRUCTIONS AND COACHING

This form of play requires all numbers to be even, and play always starts with a ball being put in by the coach. This is followed by a 3-on-3. Team composition is decided by a simple colour signal given by the coach, for example, YELLOW. Then the called team will play, for example, 3 players with a YELLOW side, on the 2 goals on the side where the YELLOW marking is here on the right side. The opposing team tries to prevent a goal and counterattacks towards the 2 opposite goals. A new signal is given with each new pass from the coach and, therefore, leads to a new team composition.

Variations:

  • Every player can attack both colours (e.g. Player 8 on GREEN and YELLOW)
  • Every player can attack both colours but with considering the 2 different sides (example: player 8 with his right foot towards GREEN and with his left foot towards YELLOW)
  • The shot of goal will have to be direct (with only one contact)
